Welcome to the Matheson Farms Sustainable Living Education Center
Matheson Farms and Dr. Sandra Matheson are proud to announce the creation of the Sustainable Living Education Center. We are partnering with Managing Change Northwest and the Pacific Northwest Center for Holistic Management to develop educational programs to support eco-friendly agriculture practices and to help all people create a more sustainable future for themselves.
In Phase One, our Sustainable Living Education Center (SLEC) will focus on three areas:
1) Sustainable Living (including personal development, relationship building, group facilitation, and sustainable communities) 2) Sustainable Agriculture and 3) a special program entitled “Ag, Arts, and the Environment” which will use film, art, and story-telling to explore the environment, educate the public, and document innovative and sustainable practices.
Phase One will be accomplished by seminars, events, webinars, tours, and classes both online and on-site. We will use our team’s combined skills, talent, and expertise as well as collaborating with others to bring you the best experience and knowledge possible.
In Phase Two, physical infrastructure will be developed for events, internships, and more on the ground teaching (livestock and gardens).
It is our hope that we can reach out to more people in many ways through the development of SLEC. Additional information and event schedules will be coming soon!
